Hello, I'm pretty new to using filming with mini DV's and as I was finishing up a project, I began to realize that I'm not to sure how to edit my project because my laptop doesn't have the right type of firewire port. You seemed like the right person to go to because, well, you're clearly an experienced Filmer! Do you know of any alternative ways I could transfer my projects on to my computer that's not too expensive? If you do, could you drop me a line on what to do? Thanks!

It’s been a while since I’ve used mini DV. But depending on what you have Premire (Windows) or Final Cut (Mac) there should be a tape to transfer setting. Another option is to use a post house to transfer the tape to digital files. There are also transfer methods to capture video from SD signals via contraptions (sorry I’m not brushed up on this) that you can get readily at Best Buy. Do some research you’re not out if options yet.

This is a segment were I talk about news issues. Be warned, this is serious.

A southern California politician has proposed that 13 counties succeed from California forming an aptly named new state called “Southern California.”

This, of course, raises the question of whether another star can fit on our flag before it looks all jumbled?

Supervisor Jeff Stone, a pharmacist from Temecula, has accused the California government of being left wing.

Mr. Stone has tapped into what solves all of America’s problems right now; instead of working together, separate. Just like your parents did, and remember how happy your family was after.

This kind of logic of, red vs. blue, is currently working for us as we “solve” our deficit problem and also as a web-series based on a video game.

Either way the Riverside County board is going to see Mr. Stones proposal on Tuesday.

In other news, Senator Orrin Hatch admits that the rich are unfairly being taxed and the poor need to “share some of the responsibility.”

A tax hike of the top bracket according to Nancy Folbre could generate an additional $78 billion yearly. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any numbers for raising taxes on the impoverished.

But Mr. Hatch has seen beyond reason to the real motivating details, poor people also have money. Even if they have to beg for it.
